September West-MEC CTE Student of the Month

Congratulations to Drake Cales, West-MEC September CTE Student of the Month!
Bryce Budoff, media productions instructor at Sunrise Mountain nominated Drake for the honor, which includes, a $50 gift card to Best Buy and an award plaque donated from sponsors of West-MEC.
Currently enrolled in his second year in Mr. Buduoff’s media productions class, Drake knows his way around a television studio. Most recently, Drake was promoted to head producer of the daily news broadcast at Sunrise Mountain. He’s experienced in multiple studio production jobs and skilled in creating motion graphics, filming, editing and producing videos, as well as working live news broadcasts. Drake is also comfortable in front of the camera, taking on the role of TV anchor on multiple occasions.
In addition to Drake’s responsibilities in the studio, he serves as the media and public relations liaison for the school’s student government. He also established a spirit club called the, Purple Plague, to promote school pride during various school activities.
To award his accomplishments, Drake received an engraved plaque and a $50 gift certificate to Best Buy. Local Valley businesses including: Phoenix International Raceway, The Orcutt Winslow Partnership and The Sundt Companies donated funds to support the West-MEC CTE Student of the Month program.
September CTE Student of the Month Drake Cales created the following video in his Sunrise Mountain media productions class. The video montage highlights a selection of production elements taught in the class such as animation, camera angles, graphic design and editing.
