• TAX CREDIT DONATIONS

Arizona tax law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows taxpayers a tax credit if they contribute to extracurricular activities in public schools. The tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar deduction of the actual owed tax, and if you have no tax, you may carry the unused credit forward up to the next five consecutive taxable years’ income tax liability.

Your tax donation supports extracurricular activities. That means any optional, non-credit educational or recreational activity that supplements the education program of the school. Your donation directly supports West-MEC student participation in leadership organizations such as SkillsUSA and HOSA.

You may also indicate which area(s) you would like to support – or you can designate your donation to be given to the greatest need. The amount you donate does not have to be for the maximum – you can have an impact in our schools with $20, $50 or $100. Every amount helps!

This tax credit is available to all Arizona individual taxpayers, regardless of whether you have children in school or not. The credit is limited to $400 for married couples filing jointly, $200 for married couples filing separately, or $200 for single individuals or heads of household.

Please make note, the credit can only be claimed on individual tax returns. Contributions from businesses are welcome and are tax deductible, but cannot be claimed as a credit.
