“I spent 24 years in law enforcement before teaching CTE. The legal and law enforcement industry is changing, many of the baby boomers in the industry will be retiring. It is important to adequately train high school students interested in the career field so they are prepared to start working.”

CTE programs in legal and protective services are perfect for those students who are intrigued by law enforcement and forensic science, they can’t seem to get enough of TV shows like, CSI Miami, Law & Order, and Bones. They’re the students that want to protect and serve or dream about becoming a fire fighter. Paralegals, customs agents and paramedics also fall under this category. It takes a special kind of person to take on the intensity that surrounds many of these occupations.

Students get a taste of the job responsibilities and the realities of a career in the legal and protective service industry through high school CTE programs.
